What is sacrosidase oral solution?
SACROSIDASE (Sucraid™) is used to treat sucrase deficiency which is part of a genetic condition known as congenital sucrase-isomaltase deficiency (CSID). Patients with CSID are missing the enzymes necessary to break down and absorb sucrose (table sugar) and isomaltose (a type of starch) from the gastrointestinal tract. Generic sacrosidase oral solution is not available.

How should I take this medicine?
Take sacrosidase oral solution by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Each dose must be diluted with 24 ounces of water, milk, or infant formula. Use the specially marked measuring scoop that is provided with your medicine. The beverage or infant formula should be served cold or at room temperature. Do not heat the solution, mix it with hot liquids, or mix or consume with acidic beverages such as fruit juice because this can cause your medicine not to work properly. Take half of each dose at the start of the meal and the other half after the meal has been eaten.
